Catalytic cracking catalyst can be contaminated and poisoned by trace levels of metal elements in crude oil. The production of oil refinery can be instructed effectively by analyzing trace levels of metal elements in regenerated and balanced catalyst being used. It is showed that this method measuring trace levels of metal elements in catalytic cracking catalyst with ICP-AES has the advantages of low detection limit, good precision and high accuracy. In addition, multi-elements can be determined simultaneously and wide linear range can be obtained by the method. The method is one of the effective means for testing trace levels of metal elements in catalytic cracking catalyst.
