Study of Sample Preparation Method for XPSAnalysis of Powdered Samples

Powdered samples are usually dusted on double sided adhesive tape for XPS analysis. This method is not so good because powders may fall into the chamber of the spectrometer and it may damage the turbo pump. Here we introduce a method in which powdered sample is spread on adhesive tape while it is pressed into a sheet. The present method is simple and quick. It is not need to use mould. Experimental results also show that the sensitivity and resolution of XPS analysis can be improved while the damage of the spectrometer due to powders falling can be avoided by using the present method.
