Determination of Labile Trace Metals in Seawater by Voltammetric Polarograph

  • Anodic stripping voltammetry is an effective method for the direct determination of trace metal elements in seawater without the need for sample pre-concentration treatment, which can achieve the simultaneous determination of multiple elements. The effects of critical parameters such as accumulation potential and time on the determination of copper, lead, cadmium and zinc by anodic stripping voltammetry were studied through a voltammetric polarograph. The filtered seawater samples collected from different sites of Yantai Sishili Bay were determined directly for the analysis of labile trace metals of copper, lead, cadmium and zinc. It provides an effective technique for the speciation analysis and bioavailability study of trace metal elements in seawater.
