    Abstract: PLOT columns have become powerful and routine tools in gas chromatographic analysis of fixed gases, light hydrocarbons and volatile solvents. They often replace traditional packed columns. An overview of the development of porous layer open-tubular capillary adsorption chromatography is given. This review includes the basic practical applications.
