    Abstract: The recent developments of the application of near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) in the fields of food, animal meals, drugs and chemical products are reviewed. As a useful tool, NIR can provide the information of the utilizable energy of the food, the toxic content in food, the quality of the food, animal meals and chemical products.
