Determination of Contents of Ten Elements in Starch Acetate Samples by ICP-OES

  • The contents of ten mineral elements(K, Ca, Na, Mg, Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn, P, Ni) in starch acetate were determined by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES). The samples were pretreated by microwave digestion. The results showed that the linear range of the method was wide. The linear correlation coefficient (r) was more than 0.999 4. The recovery was between 90.0% and 106.7%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was lower than 3.9%. The method is proved to be simple, fast, sensitive, and accurate in the analysis of starch acetate samples with satisfactory results. It was indicated that Ca had the highest content among all the measured elements. The contents of P, K, and Na were relatively abundant, and in the starch acetate samples there were, also trace amounts of Mg, Cu, Fe, Mn and Ni.
