Determination of Major and Minor Components in Carbonate Rock Samples by Fused Bead-X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry

  • A method for the determination of major and minor elements including SiO2, Fe2O3, Al2O3, TiO2, CaO, MgO, K2O, Na2O, MnO and P2O5 in carbonate rock samples by Axios X-ray fluorescence spectrometry with mixed flux fusion pellets was proposed. The matrix effect was corrected using the theoretical alpha coefficient. The method was verified by the first-class national standard material. The method is simple and rapid. The relative standard deviation(RSD, n=12) of each element in the measurement results was less than 10% (except for the contents of elements near the detection limit), and the detection limit was low, which can meet the requirements of the geological and mining industry.
