Determination of 9 Impurity Elements in Lithium-Rich Manganese Cathode Materials by Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectrometry

  • Nine impurity elements (Na, K, Cu, Ca, Fe, Mg, Zn, Al, Si) of lithium-rich manganese-based cathode materials were determined by inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry(ICP-OES). The sample preparation, optimization of instrument conditions, choice of spectral line and matrix effect were discussed. The relative standard deviation(RSD) of the method was 1.1%~5.1%, and the spiked recovery was 93.0%~104.0%. A convenient and reliable method with high precision and accuracy, for determination of trace impurities in lithium-rich manganese-based cathode materials is introduced.
