Enantiomeric Separation of Pesticides by High Performance Capillary Electrophoresis

  • Pesticides are important agricultural chemicals. In many situations, one enantiomer of the pesticide shows undesirable responses or has a more toxic effect on non-target species or has no effect on the target species. But there are few reports on the study of chiral pesticides. High performance capillary electrophoresis is a technique suitable for the enantio-separation. This review surveys analysis of chiral pesticides by capillary electrophoresis with emphasis on the commonly used for phenoxy acid herbicides. The potential of capillary electrophoresis in analysis of chiral pesticides is clearly demonstrated with a bright future.
