Simultaneous Determination of Extractable Chromium, Nickel and Cadmium in stainless steel cutlery for foodstuffs by Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry

  • The simultaneous determination of extractable Cr-Ni and Cd in stainless steel cutlery for foodstuffs was repested by ICP-AES. Samples sheared from stainless steel cutlery were dipped in 4% acetic acid solution about 24 h in room temperature condition, then were condensed to 6:1. Concentrations of Cr-Ni and Cd in the marinated solution were determined simultaneously by ICP-AES in which the operation conditions were determined through optimum test. The process of test was simple and the test time was saved due to the amount of elements were determined at the same time. Precision test and recovery test indicated the results of test by this method is believable.
