Chromatographic Methods of Shaotangshang Gel

Objective: to establish the chromatographic methods of Shaotangshang gel for control the quality standard of Chinese medicine. Methods: TLC was performed to identify Rhizoma coptidis,Cortex phellodendri chinensis,Radix et rhizome rhei,Radix scutellariae.HPLC was used to determine content of Berberine hydrochloride. Conclusion: the characteristic of identification by TLC was distinct and highly specific and the quantification method had the linearity range of 26.64～133.20 μg/mL,r=0.9997.The average recovery was 96.77% and RSD was 1.6%.The methods of identification and quantification are simple,realizable and reproducible.It could be used effectively for the quality control of Shaotangshang gel.
