Phase Separation of Mecapto Polymethylmethacrylate Nanospheres Dispersed in Aqueous Solution

  • The mercapto polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA-SH) nanospheres with a diameter of about 140 nm were prepared by the soap-free emulsion polymerization. The phase separation of PMMA-SH nanospheres in the aqueous solution was detected by fluorescence spectrometry. It is found that the PMMA-SH nanospheres can be separated from the aqueous solution during heating, and the phase separation temperature was between 14 and 16℃.
